Business Communication and Presentations - Essay ExampleThis is a key factor in the cohesion of a group of people working together to achieve common objectives. In the case of Rio Ferdinand, the communication was non-verbal and not successful or effective as he kept forgetting to get the tests done. This means the means of communication was not the right mode. It could also mean that he did not give the tests too much of richness due to which he kept forgetting. This again ultimately reflects on the wrong communication process. For effective communication, managers need to understand the purpose of the pass on. This would ensure the right message at the right time and place. According to Bove and Thill (2000), the three basic functions of business communications are to inform, to persuade or to collaborate. but Lowell adds some other two functions which include to acknowledge and to empathize. Thus there are five levels and functions of the communications hierarchy (cited in WOC, 2004). In this case, information was merely given with no persuasion to act upon it timely. The decision not to allow Rio Ferdinand to be selected to go to Turkey for the crucial European Championship qualifying match was taken unilaterally between the Manchester United and the Football Association, without giving Ferdinand an opportunity to explain. This form of communication was unethical and what was even worse was that information was sent out to the press without precedent intimation to the defender or even to the rest of the England team. By adopting these modes of communication, the sender was trying to send out the message that Ferdinand was not required in the team. For a communication to be effective it must be received and understood and only then it can produce resultant action (Kalla, 2005) but Ferdinand did not take action and hence the communication process was ineffective.

Twentith-century british history - Essay ExampleIn addition, ample Britain saw its popular horticulture change a great deal, as musical acts like the Beatles helped to share the British culture with the rest of the world. Unfortunately, it is this popular culture movement that makes it very heavy to distinguish between American culture and British culture during this period period. In fact, even though this pop culture movement is sometimes referred to as the British Invasion, it could also be seen as the Americanization of British culture. Overall, the 1960s should be remembered as a time that brought about great political change in Great Britain because the people began to see that left wing political ideologies were not necessarily associated with communism and a time where the people began to stand up against the origination for the greater good of democracy. In 1964, the Labour Party took power in Great Britain, which is significant because it was the first time a leftist g overnment had power in the country. This was a significant change in the political culture of Great Britain because up until this point, the country had been exclusively left wing. As the United States carried on the Cold War with the Soviet Union, all of the United States allies were forced to exclude these left of centre ideologies from their political spectrums. Moral Philosophy Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Moral Philosophy - Essay ExampleIn history, oneness can get wind applied ethics through the decisions of governments as they were influenced due to the religious mores of their time. On a more general level, which deals with historythe Ottoman Empire, which used to span the terra firmaeffected the territories it owned with its prevailing religion. Constantinople, at the end of his life, professed the Christian faith. However, the name of the city Constantinople was later changed to Istanbul after the geopolitic every last(predicate)y-defined, mainly Muslim, country of Turkey came into prominence. Applied ethics can be seen all over the world, not to mention a lack of application of ethics in world history. For example, when Hernan Cortes and his men came to Mexico, the land of the Aztecsto hive up gold and other valuablesthe Aztecs thought this was fulfilling a prophecy that their great leader would come from far away. Instead of admitting that Cortes was not the leader he was w ho they thought, Cortes took advantage of the event that the Aztecs thought he was a holy figure, and consequentially took the wealth of the Aztecs, his men raping their women and killing a lot of citizenry, including roasting the Aztec leader Cuauhtemoc over a flaming pit and pouring boiling oil over his feet. The point is, types of domination like this went on all over the world. Christopher Columbus never indeed run aground the New World, but he found plenty of island natives in the Caribbean whose peaceful lives he ruined by the ruthless plundering of himself and his men. There is evidence of all of these types of cruel inhumanity present in all of historyand it is not just limited to the Europeans, although they were a major cause for discontent the world over. If one thinks about it, in world historythe British Empire once spanned a majority of the globe. The French and the Dutch also had colonialized several countries in Africa, Asia, and the Americas. imputable to these white peoples taking over indigenous nations peoples and forcing their values, religion, language, and culture upon themthey were forced to either change or die. So, these people adapted. More about evolution and ethics willing also be discussed in the last section of this piece. III. MoralityMorality became politically-correct (or PC) after the civil rights movement in the 60s in the United States, because it meant that any kind of oppressed people (not just Blacks) could basically rise up and say that they werent going to take being discriminated against anymore. Of course, this has led to postmodernist thinking, that everyone is equal and everyones perspective has to be right because no one is wrong we all worship the same God even though some of us may not call God God, nor does everyone

Discuss speed planes trains and automobiles in relation to spaces and Essay

Discuss speed planes trains and automobiles in relation to spaces and subjects of modernity - bear witness ExampleWhile humans can sense speed when riding on a train, at the same time there is the danger of losing the ignorant experience of nature. Riding on a train, it is possible only to catch a glimpse of the landscape and imagine its beauty to benefit fully from it requires approach back on foot. According to a popular anecdote, the Emperor Franz Joseph I stopped the train to enjoy a particularly beautiful view during his initial ride up to the Semmering. This indicates that the history of newly opened landscapes is also a history of sight. Typical train travelers could not stop the train like a royal with the opportunity only for fleeting glances, they had to be attentive in order to perceive the passing landscape. The dynamics of sight is a concept that was first base acknowledged as a special phenomenon during a train ride but later came to have an effect on modern-day pe rceptions as a whole. Speed moved pieces of scenery closer to one another, even though they had belonged to distant and distinctly different areas.
